Through our media sales business at the time, we realised that privately owned agencies would be quickly left behind in the tech grab that listed agencies were taking with their own DSPs and therefore, there’d be a lack of competitiveness and a drop in service at the “non CBA, Coles, Telstra end” of the Advertiser spectrum. Not a good era to be entering into for Marketers and Private Agencies!
Buying media programmatically is now common practice and although there is still a stigma in some pockets that “Programmatic Digital Advertising is for remnant cheap display banners on international websites”, those in the know realise that that is not the case.
